Leaky Home Syndrome

Since 1992, when the Government relaxed the laws relating to the Building Code, a large number of houses have been found to have various deficiences that have been described as "Leaky Home Syndrome". This problem has affected many thousands of New Zealanders, hurting them where it hurts most, in their most valuable asset. In some cases, repairing the houses has cost the owner tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. The burning question that home owners want answers to is "Who is to blame?
